Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)
 (Lennon/McCartney)
 Rubber Soul (1965)

John has a capo on the second fret of that Gibson of his. Clip
yours on and play in D. The signature guitar riff is based mostly
around a D chord--you'll move only your index finger and pinky
until the C chord comes along. I'm tabbing out only the
emphasized strokes here, so remember there is rythmic strumming in
the gaps. George doubles the melody on the sitar.
Sorry, I can't help you there.

Work on this until you can sing the vocal over it too!

 [Intro: riff x2]

 D D/F# D C G/B D
I once had a girl, or should I say she once had me.
  D D/F# D C G/B D
She showed me her room, isn't it good? Norwegian wood.

       Dm G
She asked me to stay and she told me to sit anywhere.
    Dm Em A
So I looked around and I noticed there wasn't a chair.

 D D/F# D C G/B D
I sat on her rug, biding my time, drinking her wine.
 D D/F# D C G/B D
We talked until two and then she said its time for bed.

 [intrumental: riff x2]

      Dm G
She told me she worked in the morning and started to laugh
    Dm Em A
I told her I didn't and crawled off to sleep in the bath.

  D D/F# D C G/B D
And when I awoke, I was alone, this bird had flown.
  D D/F# D C G/B D
So, I lit a fire, isn't it good? Norwegian wood.

 Outro: riff x2
